What you will read here is my considered take on education news and issues. Often I want to write about the disconnects I come across in the system.

I am a Resource Teacher Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) and with my colleague Gay Hay have developed and implemented the Discovery Time programme into many primary schools throughout New Zealand. The Discovery Time blog is our attempt to put some of the philosophy out there for people to read and also to show some of the things that kids are doing in the programme. ”

Philosophy, et cetera
On Kiwiology since: November 4th, 2007Providing the questions for all of life’s answers.
“Hi, welcome to Philosophy, et cetera. Here you’ll find discussion of analytic philosophy, logic, ethics, politics, religion, and other items of intellectual interest. This blog is more about the thoughts themselves than the person behind them. But I’ll tell you this much: my name is Richard Chappell, and I was born in New Zealand in 1985.
The years passed, and in 2005 I completed my BA in philosophy at the University of Canterbury. Now [2006] I’ve moved to Canberra to do my honours year at the ANU, where I’m thoroughly enjoying my study of modality and possible worlds under the supervision of Dave Chalmers. I expect to continue on to post-graduate study next year.
My dream is to become an academic philosopher, make some progress in understanding the world, and help others to do likewise.”
