“Jack was born in the People’s Republic of China in 1975. This places him at about the end of the Cultural Revolution, but shortly before the death of Chairman Mao. That’s the cultural context for you.
Jack works in IT, with an emphasis on documentation, governance structures, and process analysis. He is particularly interested in the build/release process, build management, and working at places that have good facilities for cycle commuting.
Hobbies: Cycling, gardening (particularly carnivorous plants, bamboo, and tree ferns), tattoos, spending time with the kids.”

On Kiwiology since: November 4th, 2007Born Liverpool, in the same hospital as John Lennon. Quintessential oldest child: four younger siblings. Childhood variously in Canada, Slough, and around New Zealand. Convent school in Auckland (Dominicans: the ones that ran the Inquisition) then university in Auckland, Wellington and Cambridge, from where, eventually, PhD in obscure francophone literature.
Previous occupations include dishwasher, paediatric radiographer, teaching assistant in Parisian middle school, university lecturer, and editor. Current occupation: mother to Rebecca and Maggie. Present preoccupations: poetry, klezmer, and cycling. Married to Jack since 20 Feb 2000; now living happily in unfashionable part of Wellington.

Domestic Executive
