Our interview with Maddie from Li’l Magoolie

Part of Kiwiology since: January 14th, 2011

This month, we’re delighted to hear from Maddie of Li’l Magoolie.

Tell us about your blog in five words: Interiors | Inspiration | Colour | Creativity | Mum&Kids (OK, I cheated with the last one)

Where do you find inspiration for your blog?
It’s hard to keep up with the awesome that is the internet. So much inspiration and talent out there. I like to showcase a lot of New Zealand products as well as share interior/party/product inspiration from around the world.

Three blogs you can’t stop visiting right now:

The best thing about blogging is…
Being able to showcase local stuff to international readers. Being part of a community of intelligent, creative Mums. Basically everything. Blogging is highly addictive. I have to reign myself in to only three posts a day!

The worst thing about blogging is…
Trying to keep up with emails. When you first start blogging, you don’t realise that the back-end of the process is probably the hardest part to keep on top of. My inbox is insane these days.

Top three tips for happy blogging:

  1. Have a supportive partner who puts up with your blog obsession!
  2. Keep on top of your emails. I’m just starting to work out the whole ’smart mailbox’ thing.
  3. Enjoy yourself. As soon as you see blogging as a chore, it’ll reflect in your posts.
